Community High School in West Chicago to offer adult education opportunities

WEST CHICAGO – Community High School District 94 in West Chicago is offering free adult education English, citizenship preparation and GED (General Equivalency Development Exam) classes this winter, according to news releases from the district.

Adults who wish to learn to speak English can take classes from 6:45 to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Community High School Adult Education Program also will offer citizenship preparation and Spanish GED classes. Students will be able to register for these classes from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 6 at Community High School, 326 Joliet St.

Those attending the registration session are asked to enter through Entrance H on the south side of the building.

Registration for GED classes in English will be held at 6:45 p.m. Jan. 6. The first class will take place that evening from 6:45 to 9:30 p.m. Classes will continue on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Students looking to register for the GED class should enter the high school through Entrance B on the west side.

State and federal grants have allowed the school district to offer these classes for free.
