Gary Elementary in West Chicago donates to Unicef

WEST CHICAGO – For 14 days, students and staff from Gary Elementary School in West Chicago donated loose change as part of the school's Grateful Loose Change Collection for Unicef, which was organized by the student council and the Dual Language Parent Advisory Committee.

The $429.68 that was raised will be donated to Unicef to assist with typhoon aid efforts in the Philippines. Teacher and student council organizer Pilar Rocha (back row, left) and Principal Mariel Doty (back row, right) join student council members in showing off the donation they will present to Unicef.
