Westmont police, school districts team up for presentation on effects of heroin

WESTMONT – The Westmont Police Department, Community Unit School District 201 and Maercker School District 60 are teaming up for a presentation on heroin in DuPage County.

"Heroin – The Suburban Secret" will be presented at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 in the auditorium of Westmont High School, 909 Oakwood Drive. The presentation will be an opportunity to discuss heroin in DuPage County along with the drug's effects on individuals, family and the community.

In the past year, 46 people died because of heroin in DuPage County, according to the DuPage County Coroner's Office.

The presentation will also include guest speakers in DuPage County States Attorney Robert Berlin and DuPage County Coroner Dr. Richard Jorgensen.
