Hinsdale Humane Society offers free spay/neuter vouchers

Published: Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 3:11 p.m. CDT

HINSDALE – During the month of February, Hinsdale Humane Society is offering vouchers good for free spay/neuter services at participating area veterinary offices.

This promotion runs in conjunction with the Humane Society of the United States World Spay Day (Feb. 25), an annual campaign that shines a spotlight on the importance of spaying and neutering, according to a Hinsdale Humane Society news release.

In support of World Spay Day, HHS is reaching out to pet owners who would not otherwise be able to have pets spayed/neutered due to financial limitations. Every year, between 6 and 8 million dogs and cats enter U.S. shelters; 3 to 4 million of these animals are euthanized because there are not enough homes for them, according to the release.

Vouchers for the free service will be available to qualifying pet owners at HHS, while supplies last. Additionally, World Spay Day hearts will be available for a donation to the HHS Spay/Neuter Fund.
