Bloomingdale Park District takes home two awards

BLOOMINGDALE – Bloomingdale Park District Executive Director Carrie Fullerton was honored with the 2014 Illinois Park & Recreation Association Professional Award at the IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Conference on Jan. 23 to 25 in Chicago, according to a district news release.

The award is presented to an Illinois park and recreation professional who has affected the industry.

The district also received the IPRA Outstanding Facility & Parks Award for Sunnyside Park, 291 Glen Ellyn Road, Bloomingdale, after the park underwent a renovation last summer that included the addition of playground structures for children of all ages and ability levels, as well resurfaced basketball and tennis courts.
