Published: Wednesday, April 16, 2014 11:47 a.m. CDT

BARRINGTON – Local volunteers will use $20,000 in proceeds from the recent Hopes in Style Fashion Show at the Garlands to cover the construction and supply cost of three homes in Guatemala.

Planning a service trip for August, interested volunteers are asked to meet from 2 to 4 p.m. April 27 at a Barrington home. Aside from building homes for those in need, volunteers will embark on a travel excursion, possibly visiting Tikal, one of the largest archaeological Mayan ruins in the world. Volunteers may visit Antigua as well.

Visit www.hopesinstyle.com or www.pottershouse.org for volunteer information. Call Jim Quigley at 847-304-1990 if you would like to attend the planning meeting and August trip.
