Wheaton, Carol Stream authors named as finalists for 'Soon to be Famous' project

Two of the three finalists for the Illinois Library Association's Soon to be Famous Illinois Author Project are from DuPage County, according to a project news release.

Rock Polad of Carol Stream was nominated by the Phillips Library at Aurora University for his book, "Change of Address," and Joanne Zienty of Wheaton was nominated for "The Things We Save" by the Forest School Library in Des Plaines.

Third nominee Mary Hutchings Reed of Chicago was recognized for her work, "Warming Up," by the Mount Prospect Public Library.

The winner will be announced at a media reception during National Library week at 2 p.m. at the Reaching Across Illinois Library System Administrative Offices, 125 Tower Drive, Burr Ridge.
