BROOKFIELD – Do you wish you were an Oscar Mayer wiener?

Area shoppers of Tischler Finer Foods, 9118 Broadway Ave. in Brookfield, will get a chance to catch the brand's iconic Wienermobile at an event on Friday.

The Wienermobile will make an appearance at Tischler from noon to 5 p.m. with giveaways, in-store specials and outdoor sales. Tischler will also be serving up hot dogs, offered at two for $1. All proceeds from the hot dog sales will benefit Sister Margaret's Local Food Pantry at St. Barbara's Parish in Brookfield.

According to Tischler's Facebook page, St. Barbara's pastor has granted dispensations to Catholics that will allow them to enjoy a hot dog on Friday, too, because the sales raise money for the food pantry. Catholics are traditionally told to abstain from eatting meat on Fridays during Lent, which ends on Easter.
