GRAYSLAKE – Grayslake Central High School seniors Shawn Podowski and Connor Mallon were two of eighty students from the 10th Congressional district of Illinois who participated in Congressman Brad Schneider's Model Congress on March 8 at Adlai Stevenson High School. Students were assigned a current representative and researched them beforehand in order to accurately emulate their assigned representative during their mock Congressional session.

During Model Congress, students worked in committees on legislation, directly consulted and worked with Schneider (D-Deerfield), and collaborated with peers within the 10th Congressional district who share a common passion for government.

Grayslake Central’s AP Government teacher Georgette Polychronos received an email praising Podowski and Mallon for their preparation, public speaking skills and passion for government.
