Katherine Legge Memorial dog area temporarily modified

Published: Tuesday, April 8, 2014 11:23 a.m. CDT

HINSDALE – Due to wet conditions at Katherine Legge Memorial Park, the area that dogs are permitted has been temporarily changed, effective April 3.

The goal of the modification is to protect the condition of the turf and allow for grass and sod to be established, according to a newsletter from the Village of Hinsdale.

The modifications are as follows:

• Dogs will be permitted south of the creek, but must remain north of the north picnic shelter during permitted dog hours (this area is considered Concert Hill).

• Dogs are not permitted near the platform tennis courts or the Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge.

• When turf conditions improve, dogs will be permitted to use the area north of the creek.

• Hinsdale police will enforce the temporary dog area.
