DOWNERS GROVE – The District 58 Special Services Parent Group has scheduled a meeting for May 6 to feature a presentation about executive functioning skills.

Executive function is a set of mental processes that helps connect past experiences with present action. People use it to perform activities such as planning, organizing, strategizing, paying attention to and remembering details, and managing time and space. Many students with special needs experience challenges in these areas, according to the school district.

The meeting will take place from 5:30 p.mm to 6:30 p.m. May 6 at Indian Trail School, 6235 Stonewall Ave., Downers Grove.

The speakers will be Indian Trail principal Robin Bruebach, Indian Trail resource teacher Cindy Gates, and Indian Trail sixth grade teacher Janice Conboy.

Pizza and pop will be served at 5:15 p.m. Reserve a seat by calling Cindy Gilbert at 630-719-5824 or clgilbert@dg58.org.
