WEST CHICAGO – Two Wildcat Chronicle editors from Community High School District 94 were awarded honorable mentions at the Journalism Education Association/National Scholastic Press Association’s national convention and competition April 9 through 12 in San Diego.

More than 1,100 students competed from around the country at the convention, and 436 were recognized with honorable mention, excellent and superior ratings.

Senior Katelyn Foehner competed in sports writing, and senior Alexandra Garibay competed in feature writing.

During the competitions, students listened to a speaker, participated in a question-and-answer session, and then wrote their stories in a limited amount of time.
