Elmhurst teen theatre to hold auditions

ELMHURST – DIY Summer Theatre invites kids entering grades 3 to 9 to audition for roles in its summer production of "Peter Pan."

Children will have a summer to remember, learning stage skills, music and dance, as well as making new friends.

Rehearsals begin in early June and run from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Actors will not be called to every rehearsal and the theater will work around summer schedules whenever possible.

Auditions are open to children from Elmhurst and neighboring communities. Children should prepare a one-minute monologue or poem, and be ready to sing 32 bars of music in the style of the show.

Auditions begin at 3:30 p.m. May 20 at Faith Evangelical United Methodist Church, 111 West North Avenue. Callbacks will be at 4 p.m. May 22.
