Published: Tuesday, May 6, 2014 5:06 p.m. CDT

ELMHURST – DIY Summer Theatre invites kids entering grades 3 to 9 to audition for roles in its summer production of "Peter Pan."

Children will have a summer to remember, learning stage skills, music and dance, as well as making new friends.

Rehearsals begin in early June and run from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Actors will not be called to every rehearsal and the theater will work around summer schedules whenever possible.

Auditions are open to children from Elmhurst and neighboring communities. Children should prepare a one-minute monologue or poem, and be ready to sing 32 bars of music in the style of the show.

Auditions begin at 3:30 p.m. May 20 at Faith Evangelical United Methodist Church, 111 West North Avenue. Callbacks will be at 4 p.m. May 22.

Visit www.diyteentheatre.com to sign up for an audition slot or call Helen at 630-242-0570. Those who want to try out but can’t make the audition date, may email helen@diyteentheatre.com.

Performances are July 26 through 28 at Bryan Middle School Auditorium.
