Lilac Parade parking restrictions announced

Published: Tuesday, May 6, 2014 4:27 p.m. CDT

LOMBARD – Temporary parking restrictions will be in effect during the Lombard Lilac Festival Parade to ensure safe and orderly passage of traffic, the Lombard Police Department announced Tuesday morning.

The parking restrictions will be implemented from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 18. The village's public works department will erect "No Parking" signs early that morning. Residents are urged to cooperate with the village to help maintain the parking bans.

Village officials suggest residents leave their vehicles at home and walk to the parade, if possible.

The Lombard Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will be assigned to aid the police department with traffic direction and crowd control during the parade.
