CARY – The Cary Area Public Library has received a $2,000 grant to purchase math and science-related materials.

The grant is from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, according to a news release. Materials will be for children's programming as well as circulation.

The library applied for the grant with science, technology, engineering and math concepts in mind, the news release said.

It hopes to help the "younger patrons to learn to explore, appreciate and use STEM concepts in all areas of their lives," the news release said.
