HINSDALE – The Hinsdale Humane Society will host its "Animal Adventures 2014" summer camp starting June 9.

Animal Adventures is the Hinsdale Humane Society’s animal-themed summer day camp for children going into grades 4-6. Campers spend the week immersed in animal interactions, activities and discussions that introduce them to the animal world, according to its website.

The camp meets from 9 a.m. to noon at the Hinsdale Youth Center next door to the Hinsdale Humane Society, 22 N. Elm St. Dates for the camp are June 9-13, June 16-20 and Aug. 4-8.

Activities include investigating the truths behind animal myths, learning about working therapy horses at The Hansen Center, attending a guided tour of Elmhurst Animal Care Center, learning about veterinary care, learning about Illinois wildlife at Willowbrook Wildlife Center and taking a tour to learn about the Hinsdale Humane Society.

The cost is $160 per camper, per session.
