CAROL STREAM – DuPage Pads volunteer Cindy Sheely (from left) is recognized by Executive Director Carol Simler for her 28 years of service to the organization, which is the largest provider of services to those who are homeless in DuPage County.

Sheely was one of four volunteers chosen from 4,000 to receive DuPage Pads' third annual Volunteer of the Year Award.

Sheely has worked with the organization since her congregation, Roselle United Methodist Church, started volunteering 28 years ago.

For 26 of those years, she has been the church’s support coordinator in charge of recruiting and managing about 100 volunteers to fill available shifts.
