Elmhurst fund awards three scholarships

ELMHURST – The Brian E. Wagner Scholarship Fund awarded three $2,500 scholarships to high school seniors this year.

The fund is named after Brian E. Wagner, who died in an auto accident when he was 16. The nonprofit organization encourages high school students to make a positive impact in their lives and the lives of others, according to a news release.

Three recipients were selected for this year’s honor.

James Pukala from York High School was accepted to Northwestern University and will major in either economics or Chinese, the release stated.

Ryan Russ from Immaculate Conception College Prep will enroll at the College of DuPage and pursue studies in fire science.

Jack Pastuovic from Montini High School plans to attend Indiana University and major in finance and accounting.
