LISLE – A Lisle woman and a Maywood man face felony charges after allegedly claiming to hold a friend for ransom and threatening to kill her if their demands were not met, according to a news release from the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.

Deanna Nolan, 19, 2008 Ogden Ave., Lisle, and Jakarre Brown, 20, 1635 21st Ave., Maywood, are charged with disorderly conduct, the release said.

It is alleged that at about 5 p.m. Wednesday, a man received a phone call from a blocked number, during which the caller told him his granddaughter had been kidnapped and would be killed if he did not meet their demands for money, according to the release.

After the call, the man contacted the Naperville Police Department, the release said. An investigation led to Nolan and Brown, who were taken into custody at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The man's granddaughter was safely located at another friend's house, according to the release.

Nolan and Brown appeared in court Thursday morning, the release said, at which time Judge Elizabeth Sexton set bond for each at $50,000 with 10 percent to apply. Nolan's next court appearance is scheduled for Saturday. Brown will appear Tuesday.
