BURR RIDGE – State Senator Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) is teaming up with State Representative Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) to host a free community recycle day on from 9 a.m. to noon July 19 at Burr Ridge Middle School, 15W451 91st St.

“Representative Durkin and I look forward to hosting this event and raising awareness about the importance of recycling in our community," Radogno said in a news release. "We encourage residents to help us improve the environment by donating their unwanted items on July 19.”

Electronics that can be recycled include televisions, monitors, computers, VCRs, radios, tape players, fax machines and telephones.

School supplies, musical instruments, books, bikes, and other household materials will also be collected.

Several charitable organizations will also be participating in the event, accepting electronics, household and personal items for reuse. Habitat for Humanity is seeking building materials, while Vintage Tech is accepting several different types of electronic and household items such as copiers, external drives, satellite dishes, bread makers, fryers, hair cutters, holiday lights and much more.

AT&T will also be sponsoring paper shredding, with a limit of two bags of paper per person.
