Glen Ellyn Park District, alliance to host inaugural duck race

GLEN ELLYN – The Glen Ellyn Park District and the Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn will host the inaugural Great Lake Ellyn Duck Race at 7:30 p.m. July 23, according to an alliance news release.

The event will start after the district's Family Fun Night.

Participants can adopt a duck for $10 or purchase a quack pack of four ducks for $30. Proceeds will benefit the Glen Ellyn Park District Scholarship Fund and the Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn.

First, second and third prize will share a fourth of the pot of cash raised. Only 1,000 ducks will be sold. 

Ducks are available at various downtown locations such as Marcel’s, AliKat, Costello Jewelry Company, The Bookstore, Renaissance Art Studio, A Bella Bead, Glen Ellyn Sweet Shoppe, Paisley on Main, Spring Avenue and Main Street recreation centers, Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center and Holes & Knolls.
