Have you experienced “the moment” yet? I am talking about the first time you walk into the store and see Back to School supplies.

It is the moment panic sets in. Panic that summer is almost over. Don’t stress! Bolingbrook Park District has plenty of summer fun still to come.

Kids of all ages will enjoy The Lego Movie on Monday at Bull Dog Park next to Fountaindale Public Library. The show starts at 8 p.m. Come early and enjoy free ice cream and activities provided by the Fountaindale Public Library.

Maybe you haven’t made it to that summer baseball game yet.

Join Lily Cache Special Recreation Association at the Joliet Slammers game on Sunday, Aug. 10. Game time is 1:05 p.m. and tickets are only $10. Five dollars of each ticket sold benefits the Lily Cache Special Recreation Association Scholarship Fund. Tickets are available at the Annerino Community Center, 201 Recreation Drive or Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex, 200 S. Lindsey Lane.

We always save the best for last.

Summer’s Last Blast will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex. The day kicks off with Parkie’s 5K featuring a new and improved route. Register early to ensure you receive a Parkie’s 5K T-shirt and goodie bag. They are limited to the first 500 registrants.

If Parkie’s 5K is not for you, we have a full day of family fun including fishing, swimming, a car show, petting zoo, evening concert and of course the fireworks. Visit www.bolingbrookparks.org for a complete schedule of events

As always, Pelican Harbor Indoor/Outdoor Aquatic Park will remain open through Labor Day. If you haven’t spent an afternoon poolside this summer, grab your towel and head out to the park. Admission is $15 or only $8 if you have your Resident ID Card.

Finally, whether you are an avid golfer or simply want to give golf a try, Boughton Ridge Golf Course is the course for you. All rounds are $15 or less. You can’t beat that great summer deal.

Bolingbrook Park District has endless programs, events and services to help you enjoy the rest of summer. So relax and enjoy, we have you covered. Bolingbrook Park District is where the fun is!
