One sweet ticket

Riverside police are ticketing kids this summer for good behavior through Operation Chill, which rewards kids with a free Slurpee.

RIVERSIDE – Riverside Officer Jeff Simpson gives a "ticket” to 7-year-old Stanley Havlik, of Riverside Lawn, for properly wearing his bike safety helmet July 9 near the foot bridge off Riverside Road. Riverside police have been issuing "tickets" to kids around town this summer who are acting with safety and community service in mind. The program, Operation Chill, is held in partnership with 7-Eleven stores, rewards kids for good behavior. Each "ticket" can be redeemed for a small Slurpee at participating 7-Eleven stores.
