Glen Ellyn History Center to host electricity seminar

GLEN ELLYN – The Glen Ellyn History Center will host a seminar about the history of electricity in the western suburbs, according to a center news release.

The program, titled, "The History of Electricity in the Western Suburbs," will be held at 7 p.m. July 18 at 800 N. Main St. Environmental engineer Jeffrey Gahris, a past member of the Glen Ellyn Environmental Commission, will present.

Gahris' presentation will include facts and descriptions about the third rail and railroad telegraphy.

Admission is $5 for members, $7 for nonmembers and free for students.
