Oak Brook police take part in Independence Day Click It or Ticket crackdown

OAK BROOK– The Oak Brook Police Department issued 21 seat belt citations during the Independence Day Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket crackdown, according an Oak Brook Police Department news release.

The police department also issued three speeding citations, six citations for operating an uninsured vehicle, two citations for driving with a suspended or revoked license and three other citations. No drunk driving tickets were issued, acording to the release.

The day was part of a statewide effort to get drunk drivers off the road and to encourage seat belt use.

Extra focus was put on the late-night hours when statistics show the highest number of motorists drink and drive, while the fewest buckle their seat belts.
