Published: Wednesday, July 23, 2014 11:38 a.m. CDT

RINGWOOD – Pioneer play is the theme of this month's family-oriented Lost Valley Venture.

The program is held each Saturday in August from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Route 31 and Harts Road, Ringwood.

Staff will lead families through a nature lesson, game and activity all based on the month's topic. If weather allows, the program will also include a short exploratory hike.

Next month the program will explore fun with flowers, October will delve into bird migration, and November will look at the white-tailed deer.

The program is free and does not require advanced registration. All ages are welcome.

This program is intended for families and cannot accommodate organized groups.  Youth groups should contact Prairieview Education Center at (815) 479-5779 to schedule a program for their group.
