LOMBARD – Cold beer, hot food and live entertainment delighted large crowds last weekend during the 47th Annual Germanfest at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

With picture-perfect weather, the longest-running festival in the western suburbs returned with German fare, including bratwursts and sauerkraut, a casino, raffles and carnival rides.

Funds collected form the festival will be used for the parish school, donated to St. Vincent de Paul and used to rebuild the church's iconic bell tower.
