ADDISON – For the 13th consecutive year, Addison celebrated National Night Out on Tuesday with a pizza party.

An estimated 1,500 people attended the annual Addison By the Slice pizza bakeoff and visited with Addison crime prevention officers during the evening, according to a village news release.

The event also included a craft fair and entertainment by The Blooze Brothers, the release stated.

Judges Mike Sanders, a 95.9 The River on-air personality; Manny Hernandez, banquet sous chef at Hotel Arista in Naperville; and Samantha Slater, Miss Addison 2014, gave out awards in seven categories, according to the release.

The judges made their decisions during a blind taste test inside Village Hall.

Attendees determined the final award by casting ballots throughout the evening. For the 13th year in a row, Nardi's Tower of Pizza won the People's Choice award, according to the release.

Pyramid Club won best cheese, best sauce, best thin crust and best deep dish/stuffed pizza from the judges.

Alta Villa won best sausage and judge's choice. Zio Tony's won best specialty pizza.
