WESTCHESTER – The village of Westchester recently announced a temporary water ban to remain in effect throughout the town until Oct. 31.

Enforcing the ban will help protect the water supply while the water tower is being repainted, the village announced.

The ban, which went into effect Aug. 14, includes any outdoor water use, such as pool filling, sidewalk washing, lawn watering and house cleaning. It does not apply to newly seeded lawns or newly placed sod.

Residents interested in more information can contact the village at 708-345-0020 or online at www.westchester-il.org.
