Fruitful Yield, at 425 N. La Grange Road, will host its grand opening celebration Friday.

LA GRANGE PARK – Although its doors first opened in the middle of May, La Grange Park’s Fruitful Yield will host a grand opening celebration all weekend long for customers starting Friday.

The health food store, at 425 N. La Grange Road, will have a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Friday, followed by a weekend celebration scheduled to include taste testings, free samples, raffles and product demonstrations.

Since opening, the community has been extremely welcoming, Store Manager Laura Kasperek said. The store was moved to the area from its previous location in Berwyn.

“We are so very lucky to find such an excellent location in La Grange Park,” Kasperek said.

Fruitful Yield, which specializes in health food, vitamins, nutrients and supplements, offers most of its products at a 20 percent to 35 percent discount, according to Kasperek. She said the shop also has vegan options and a few organic produce items available.

“We’re not doctors or anything, but we can give our best [opinion] of what the products do,” Kasperek said. “We have great nutritionists who are teaching our staff every day.”

The store has 13 employees at the moment, but Kasperek said they’re always looking for more people.

“This is a great company,” Kasperek said, and add that the La Grange Park location is one of 12 for the corporation.

“I don’t think there’s any store quite like us.” Kasperek said. “Hopefully, we have a different market and something for everyone.”
